extreme long shot to establish where this scene is taking place, it also shows us that there is no one around.
tom cruise is climbing a cliff with no ropes to save him if he falls. this shows how extreme he is and that he has no fears.
the cliffs are red to connote the danger of what he is doing
we see his rest which tells us that even though he is a fine specimen of man he isn't perfect.
shots are dominated with els and ls to show us the how extreme what he is doing is and that if he falls he will die.
he leans back on the cliff which once again shows how daring he is as he leaning off a cliff hundreds or thousands of feet in the air.
his jump from one part of the cliff to another showings again how fearless he is but also show his agility.
he then slips and hangs on the edge of the cliff. this show his strenghth and power as he can hold himself easily.
also as he is hanging we see his face. but when we see it there isnt much emotion on his face other than determination which shows another part of him.
Tom then reaches the top of the cliff and we see how far he is climbed and we get the idea of how dangerous the task he has done just was

even though the text is jittery it is still readable

A thriller is a genre of film that excites and entertains the audience which entices them to watch the film. Thriller films are so popular because of there very entertaining and exciting actions scenes. The main reason for thrillers is to keep the viewer on the edge of there seat and with suspenseful and sensational action. 

In a thriller there are many codes and conventions that make it. one of these is the plot. A thrillers plot is usually full of twists and turns and people are normally unsure of what is going to happen. Thrillers also have lots of action which can cause then to be chaotic are are often set in exotic locations

Thriller films usually have a sub - genre to there text for example a classic thriller such as psycho or a action thriller like james bond. there kinds of thrillers are very successful but what is it about these films make them so successful? i think that it is the action scene's and high profile actors that make these films so successful. the real reason they are so successful it the advertisement and director.
